Black Tea (Summer Harvest)

$9.99$20.00

-Origin: Ilam, Nepal
-Ingredients: Camilia Senensis
-Type: Black Tea; Freshly harvested tea leaves are withered then rolled to trigger the oxidation process and are placed in a dryer to finish and lock in the qualities developed at just the right levels. The result is a rich, aromatic and mildly astringent black tea; infusion color of this tea is amber with fruity and woodsy flavors and definitively long lasting finish.
-Character: Rich, Aromatic, Fruity notes, Hints of dark chocolate, Mildly astringent, Long lasting finish
-Suggested food pairing: Roast beef, Lasagna, Rye bread
-Harvest Season: Summer

These tea leaves are picked from late May to June, follows a brief period of dormancy after Spring Harvest. Some call this the “Second Flush”. Monsoon rains during the second flush bring much needed nourishment to the tea plants. Second flush teas are darker in color and the taste brings out more terroir.
